I like the Irish pub in Wheaton. Live music many nights of the week.

Tiffany Tavern in Old Town Alexandria has live bluegrass almost every night. Super relaxed dive bar, good music, older (verging on just plain old) crowd. Highly recommended.

I think you should check out a dueling piano bar like Bobby McKeys in National Harbor (it's the only thing I would go to National Harbor for)
