Why do your feathers get ruffled so easily? I am moving from Florida with absolutely zero knowledge of the Fairfax area. Education is a priority for us and I was hoping for some guidance. If you're not interested in helping, that's fine. Snarky remark is not necessary though.

If your kid gets into AAP, they get transportation to the local AAP center from the base school. So that shouldn't narrow your search, unless you have several kids, think some but not all will get into AAP, and want them all to attend the same school.

If you want to be close to DC and in the "best" pyramids, check out schools in the Langley and McLean pyramids. If you want a small-town feel, check out the Town of Vienna and nearby areas and schools in the Madison pyramid. If you want more land, check out houses in the Oakton pyramid.

This doesn't seem crazy to me, sounds pretty reasonable. Most of these schools are within a 5-7 mile radius thus showing the high costs and value of the real estate associated with them.

I remember her, too. The Marshall HS teacher who always comes out swinging if anyone writes anything bad about Marshall. This is the only DCUM "personality" that I have recognized.

I'm pretty sure they are different posters. I remember the Marshall HS teacher, who has posted occasionally on DCUM for years. She always has nice things to say about the school and sounds like the type of teacher you'd want your kids to have.

Yes, I think you are right. I would welcome any thoughful input from a Marshall teacher. I think it is the CML/PH flipper poster who bugs.
