Although that red wine vinegar PP posted sounded awesome. I just don't usually put that much effort into salads. I like last-minute, low effort.

Baby spinach, balsamic vinaigrette, toasted nuts (pine nuts, walnuts, or slivered almonds). If you want a little color, add sliced strawberries or dried cranberries.

I would do something light as well. Mixed greens, shaved parm and red wine vinaigrette.

Tyler Florence's Fall Salad...pears, candied pecans (make your own or buy), shaved pram and a maple-balsamic vinaigrette. My 3 and 6 year olds loved it!

With the lasagne, I wouldn't do cheese (or anything else heavy or sweet). Maybe spinach, escarole, or arugula with a vinegrette.
