OP here, actually I don't generally get too stressed...I have FB people who are posting anti-US posts from pakistan, when I know they are naturalized americans, I have friends who are gay ex-seminarians crying down gay rights and abortion care, I have exmilitary Ron Paul supporters daily firing up about obama's dictatorship, I have shabbat-observing black hebrew israelites posting that we're all sinning for failing to observe the shabbat (and the posts are made ON the shabbat ) and I generally just make a short comment and keep on trucking...I even have friends who seem solely to post herballife and PETA links...maybe it's exhaustion kicking in..

You have all this and you are concerned about the post you cited? I don't get it.

I have FB friends who post political views on both sides, and sometimes I disagree with both, but my friends are entitled to their opinions. Another FB friend posts "devotional" things pretty regularly, which I don't like but again, that's who she is. If you don't like this person then unfriend. pretty simple.

I'd guess your own facebook bloc of friends must be a saner/more homogenous bunch.

It's not about disagreeing with views, it's about showing that you have little class and no self control. At least that is how I would take it. People with no discretion irritate me, and I have no desire to read their rants on facebook. I don't care if I agree with the rants or not.

But I am not OP. Her feelings may be different.

I actually like hearing other opinions. I'm voting for Obama but he's far from perfect.

No. People are entitled to their opinions.

Why not just hide her posts until after the election? You don't have to go as far as unfriending. I wouldn't unfriend someone over this, but maybe I don't get the meaning?

I am not even logging on to FB until after the election. I have too many old classmates who say stupid stuff during the rest of the year. I cannot even imagine what is coming out of their mouths these days.

It's a good idea to tune zealots out during election season. Even reasonable people seem to go a bit crazy.

I don't get this rampant "unfriending" thing, on or off Facebook.

If you are going to unfriend anyone who disagrees with you, you live a pretty intolerant life.
