So agree with this. I don't think some pro-lifers realize that adoption is an equal choice if you do not want a baby. Pregnant women would engage in dangerous activities that would severely damage the fetus (drinking, smoking, drugs) and could cause some pretty bad defects in a baby. Are all the pro-lifers going to adopt those children? Or how about the story in the news a couple of weeks ago about the teenager who strangled her baby to death after she gave birth to it. She didn't want to have a baby and didn't want to tell anyone so she hid it for 9 months and then strangled the baby and hid the body. You're right, abortion is way worse.

Can't we have the minimal respect for each other of admitting that those who place more importance on the right of a woman to control what happens inside her body get no joy from the destruction of a fetus and that those who place more importance on that potential human being are not waging a war on women?

Even if it is the most important political issue for you, it should be possible to understand that different people of good will can see things differently.
