Lands end clothes, shoes, and bathing suits (and sun shirts) have lasted me and my kids for years. They aren't the most trendy things but they really are great for basics.

Carter's in my opinion is absolute junk. Hanna Anderson is much better quality.

Vineyard Vines and Lilly Pulitzer are our staples

LL Bean - they have an amazing guarantee and are one of the few companies in the position to do that. If a backpack tears even years later, they'll gladly replace it because that's so rare with LL Bean.

I also love Carter's baby stuff. Most of it is very soft. I usually buy baby clothes for friends there. Merrell shoes for my son lasted through a million washes. He only wears tennis shoes in the winter so she wore them every day.

Fwiw, I can still use most of the Carter's clothing I bought for my first boy for my fourth kid while the few jaCadi outfits I received as gifts didn't hold up nearly as well.

an important thing when considering brand is that sometimes it gets purchased and the new product does not meet historical performance. Or they start making it cheaper.

For example:
Electralux vacumes
Radian Car Seats

I somewhat agree with your point, but you realize you came across as a bitch, right? You could've been nicer, dontcha think? And you do realize that toddlers and older children can wear the same size for a few seasons at least, right? So buying well made clothes would make sense. Right?

I can see your point for infant or young toddler clothes, but by the time mine were in 2T, they were getting a full year out of each item (wore it two summers or winters in a row, and my kids play hard. High-quality clothing meant that things lasted many washed and lots of rough and tumble outdoor play, so that I don't have to choose between replacing things often or letting my kids go around with holes in their clothes.
