Not shocked that you are an atheist. Ive never met a compassionate atheist. The kid is dead. His family is in pain. Leave the thread alone if you disagree. His death and their suffering should not be the place you pontificate about the evils of prayer. And no I'm not religious, but this is not the place for your self-centered shit.

I am religious and I agree with this. Further, I think people post these threads in this way to draw attention to the story because they really just want to discuss what happens but somehow feel like just saying that is too wrong or something.

I'm an athiest (and compassionate) and PP, I think this was the wrong thread to express those sentiments on.
I will be thinking of that family today.
7:00 again. I apologize for the "not compassionate" remark about athiests. I generalized based on my experience, and that's never a good thing. I posted in anger, and I apologize. My heart aches for anyone who dies too young, and anyone who loses a child.
All, I am an atheist and I am very compassionate. I rescue animals, I have kids, I am very kind. Religion has nothing to do with kindness!

We live near that park. There are a lot of people there throughout a weekend, there's no way the body would've gone unnoticed for that long so close to a path. Someone put that body, in that position, to be found.
