15:47 - PP here. Also, to clarify, we don't know if this actually occurred at FCC, as it is based purely on the assumptions in the original post. To that end, FCC should not be put in a position of responding to every claim on the internet (its hard to respond to something to which you aren't a party).

Only if it wasn't them. But if it was, they'll probably be doing everything they can not to lose their license and not get shut down. I hope they do get shut down if this is really what they allowed to happen.

PP I feel your paranoia. I turned down a spot at FCC for my 2 year old (and I live in the neighborhood and use Livingston St park regularly). This hits close to home.

PP here; we have not heard anything from FCC on this incident -- we just reached out and I will post an update once I hear back. That said, because we have not heard anything from FCC, I would like to find out if the child is my DS. I am not sure if I understand your identification concerns, but a simple description of clothing would be sufficient for me (and hopefully not overly intrusive).


Judging from the PP's accounts, it sounds like the child's dad (and the police) showed up so I would think you would know if it was your son. However, that you question whether it could have been your son (but FCC isn't being straight with you) is really scary.

15:12 - The child's father arrived at the park? That is great news, but I wonder if the child in the care of FCC or another day care. If the police did arrive, their general report should be public. I will probably call the local precinct. Does anyone know which precinct has Livingston Park within their jurisdiction?

Phew, I'm so glad 1) that the child was OK; 2) that the parent arrived and hopefully withdrew the child from the center immediately, and 3) called Channel 4.

Not OP but my nanny told me the exact same story as OPs. She told me a police officer did arrive and that eventually the child's father arrived. That's all I know.

12:12 - Any help would be greatly appreciated with a description or further details (i.e., where the police actually dispatched, did an officer arrive on the scene, name of the attendant, etc.).

My son is a bit of an explorer and, as the previous poster commented, would go absolutely ape shit over this.

I am super relaxed when it comes to most things, but this is one of the things that would send me to "ape shit" zone. To not notice that a child is missing for close to an hour warrants closing this center (which ever one it is). This REALLY needs to be on the news. There is no possible excuse under the son for these teachers.
