I'm 5.5 and weigh 210lbs and I have never bought anything plus sized. My best friend buys a lot of her clothing at plus size stores and they always dismiss me for being too small for their store. Btw, unlike what my weight/height ratio tells you, I'm a size 12.

+1
I gained a lot of weight during pregnancy and currently weigh 170. I started looking at plus-sized clothing and realized it's gigantic - I now buy size 10.

No, Marilyn was not a 16, definitely not by today's standards of massive vanity sizing.
Height: 5' 5.5"
Weight: 118-140
Bust: 35-37
Waist: 22-23
Hips: 35-36
Bra: 36D

And yes, that model is plus sized.

Technically she is plus-sized, but she is beautiful. Those clothes are horribly unflattering, though. Especially the blue dress with the flowers and the blue suit.

If I saw this woman on the street I'd say no, she wasn't plus-sized. She is slim and healthy looking. However, in comparison to the stick-thin, near-anorexic models that grace major fashion magazines this woman is absolutely plus-sized. Today, models are sized 2 - 4. This woman looks like a size 10 - 12.

it is hard to tell, the clothes are awful! She is definitely a pus size model as plus sized models are usually sized 8-12. In real life plus sizes start at 14 - I have no idea what size she wears but I'd say she is close to a 12-14.

No. A lot of plus sized women like to say they're curvy when in reality, they're overweight. This woman looks like she genuinely is curvy, not overweight. She looks great.

Guy here - don't know if the girl is plus sized or not, but I sure as hell wouldn't turn down a romp with her!

Agree.

She is a beautiful plus-sized model (which means size 12 in the modeling world) but the clothes are exceptionally ugly and unflattering.

She is probably not plus-sized in the sense that she needs to shop stores like Lane Bryant, because of her height and her more proportionate hourglass figure. She looks like a size 14, maybe a small 16, and I would describe her as large but not fat. (Not that there's anything wrong with being fat, from my perspective.)

I tend to see women size 6-10 as slim/"regular", smaller women as too skinny even if/when they're not at the anorexic level, and women size 12-16 as large but still "regular" depending on their build. Height has a lot to do with it.

I don't think that she's plus sized--but I do think that dress is quite unflattering on her! She needs to wear clothes that emphasize her waist, and alas she is in a fashion shoot that is dressing her in clothes for straight up and down models.

She looks like a size 12 to me-- they probably have to adjust size 14 clothes just to fit her.

BTW the blue suit in that link is just absolutely ATROCIOUS. There needs to be a thread about that thing.
