Speaking of bitchy bullshit, at least DS isn't saying he wants to grow up to be a reality TV star.

curious how a teacher posts on DCUM at 9:28 a.m.? Or are you on West Coast? Or on a modified calendar or something? Because I know you wouldn't access DCUM while at school.

NP here. Maybe its because MCPS has the day off. Maybe she has a free period. Maybe she's out sick today. Whatever the reason, there was no call for your bitchy bullshit.

FWIW, my son always states quite firmly that when he grows up, he wants to be a dad with at least 4 kids. It's interesting to hear grownups respond to him with amusement and half-concealed disdain. Somehow I doubt they'd react that way if his sister said that her primary goal was to be a mom. (She actually wants to be a biology teacher or artist and is not sure about being a parent.)

I think you are oversensitive. I'd have to choke back knowing laughter if anyone declared an intention to have 4 kids.

If you had asked me when I was 16, I would have told you I intended to have 10 kids.
I have 4 (and probably will not have more)

I never knew what I wanted to do when I was 12. I liked creative expression, ideas, words and people.

I grew up to become first a lawyer and then a psychologist. I kinda liked law; I love psychology.

It all worked out in the end for me. But how I got here exactly? It's all a blur.

I wanted to be a pediatrician. I wanted to be the doctor who walked in after the kid got the shot and handed them the lollipop and patted their hair.

I becaome a child psychologist. I keep a jar of lollipops on my desk.

I loved animals and wanted to be a vet, but I suck at math so that didn't work out.

I wanted to be a flight attendant (air hostess in my country). I gave up the idea at age 17 when I had my first flight and realized that they were just waitresses who travel a lot.

I became a lawyer and earned enough to go to many exotic locales.

I always wanted to be a writer, and that is how I make my living, although I never would have predicted that I'd be a science writer.

I also wanted to be an architect at age 12. Drew house plans in my spare time and everything. Wound up getting into journalism in high school and college. Was a journalist for a few years after college and then became a lawyer.

But I do kind of feel like it all has been me taking the path of least resistance, and I often wish I'd become an architect. Oh well.

I wanted to be a teacher for as long as I can remember. Didn't realize until halfway through college that I didn't actually want to be a teacher, but rather, wanted to be a mom (because I liked setting up art projects and handing out snack...not exactly the most crucial parts of being an educator).

Now, I'm a designer and I teach in higher education. Happy.

A writer probably. I am a lawyer. I have been writing since I was 10 - still write in my journals and read them too. I would love to write something about my life based on my journals. I started it but never finished.
