I used to defend Shady Grove here a lot. But their behavior in the past few months has led me to think I was wrong to do that. I think the doctors I've worked with there are smart. I'd go elsewhere if you can afford to.

I’m sorry to hear that. I had Dr. F and thought he was great. No success though.

I really liked Dr. Humm at GW. I had a really bad experience with Dr. Frankfurter myself, so I would read all the doctor profiles and choose the person you feel would work with you the best.

I will also note the fertility treatment involves a LOT of appointments, so make sure your clinic is somewhere you can get to daily if need be.

I saw Sacks and got pregnant twice (once at 41 and again at 43). He is great, especially with AMA patients. I don't recall having to wait very long for an appointment either. The one thing I would recommend is to push him to be as aggressive as he can. My impression is that Dr. Sacks doesn't like to push IVF on patients right away. I think that's an admiragle quality, but time wasn't on my side, and when IUI wasn't working after a couple of months, I had to be the one to tell him that I wanted to move on to IVF.

I recommend GW and Dr. Frankfurter. Good luck!

I had a terrible experience at Shady Grove and would never encourage anyone to go there. Very disappointing considering their reputation but it truly is a factory.
