OP here and this is an honest question... why it excludes Jewish kids? Sorry I'm not familiar with Jewish customs.

And DC has gluten and milk protein allergy so we'll be very accommodating. My next thread will be "what do you think about the wording on this invitation" where I'll ask parents to RSVP with info on allergies.

I'm the pp that mentioned not doing this on the upcoming Jewish holidays. I only mentioned that because OP referred to school holidays and I know that many people forget that Jewish people observe on those days when schools are closed (MoCo). I'm Jewish and I would not give a second thought to having a playdate on a Saturday. If I happened to be going to synagogue that day, I would decline but I certainly wouldn't feel offended that it was on a Saturday. This is getting ridiculous. Go for it OP. Do it on a Saturday. Sounds fun.

I have a kid with severe peanut and treenut allergies. I would come to this. In the past, I've put a note in each invitation asking if that kid has food allergies. Maybe you could do that and if anyone does, you could work with the parent to come up with a safe way of making cookies. I would even be happy to bring safe supplies so that my kid could at least participate in the making of cookies, even if he can't eat the exact same ones.

Yeah, I feel like a lot of Christian families (like us) would be at church on Sunday mornings. I guess you just would have to get a feel for whether your DC's child skewed more Jewish or Christian, and then make a judgment call about this one. . .
