What about all the preschool volunteering? And just getting dinner on the table? And keeping the house from imploding? And picking up the dry cleaning after 2 weeks?
I mean, really, you have time for that?
I volunteer for other events like homeless shelters, cancer fundraisers, children in need and disabilities, etc. I thought it would be nice to help out at my child's future school. I have always been active in school and the community. It got me into ivy league schools and gave me interesting topics to talk about during job interviews.
I used to have a demanding work around the clock job before having children. Now I work part time and my children attend preschool. Attending a PTA meeting here and there is not a large block of time.
From the overwhelming negative responses, I will not participate.
