It's fine. I wouldn't choose it for my kids, but it's okay. I wouldn't wince and think "That poor boy!" Give him a really normal sounding middle name to smoote things out though. Maybe something like ... David?

Go for Beckett. You can stil call him Becks.

I like it better than Brecken, which is the name of a boy in DD's preschool.

Kids in my DC's class include Juel, Genesis, some really creative spellings. So Beckham doesn't seem so bad. Then you call him Beck like Jeff Beck, or the beer.

It's a last name, not a first name. It sounds pretentious, like you're trying too hard to be different or cool. It's not cute. Try David. I think it's a horrid choice.

Please don't make it an 'either my choice or yours' thing. Why don't you both make longer lists and then see if there are any overlaps. Why can't both of you like it? This is way too much winners or losers, and that's never good for a marriage.

Exactly; Bob Dylan chose the stage name based on Dylan Thomas. So it was a first name before it was a last name.

Every one should have the same name with a random number.

For example if you had 3 boys their names would be bill123 , bill 245, and bill46.
