Yes-people often criticize Obama for winning the Nobel when he apparently didn't do much of note to deserve it, but they fail to mention (or realize?) that a bunch of Norwegians picked him. While I agree he may not belong up there with the likes of Mandela, King, Mother Theresa and Lech Walesa, he didn't choose himself.

The mormon church is corrupt and is very very wealthy. Got listed one time in Fortune 500. I have had enough experiences with the 'intolerance of religion'

The whole thing seemed more like a worship service. The answers to all the specifics are still vague. The man is too high and mighty for my liking

Transubstantiation has a long and rich history in the Catholic Church, and up until the Protestant Reformation it was the belief. Mormonism by comparison is a "young" religion, found by looking at some rocks in a bag. It is effing weird. It has just enough science fiction-y ridiculousness to be up there with Scientology in my book, because you know Missouri is the promised land, right?


As opposed to Christianity/Judiasm, which have as one of their founding stories a guy who was given some rocks with writing on them by God.

And since transubstantiation has been around longer, it's well weird? That makes no sense at all.

Wait, WTF am I doing, trying to convince someone it's OK to vote for Romney? Yeah, PP, you're right, Mormonism is strange, that's the ticket . . .

Wow, I'm a democrat and would not vote for Romney because I disagree with his politics, but your position on his religion seems really mean spirited.


agreed, but you're kidding yourself if you think there aren't literally millions of Americans who will allow his choice in faith to factor in their decision to vote. It will be the biggest, unspoken reason.

Long and rich does not mean plausible. For 3000 years we thought he earth was flat and earth was the center of the universe.

That's really lazy. In what way has Obama done a poor job? Usually people who say that are the people who equally fault "both sides" when it's 98% the fault of the Republicans. Seriously - Obama's politics, as measured by the policies he's supported, are just slightly to the right of Nixon. That's how far right this poor country has been dragged. There's an assault on common sense, and if you vote for Romney or no one at all, you're a part of that mess.

I try to overlook typos, but since two posters mentioned Mormon tenants, I think it may be worth pointing out that landlords have tenants and religions have tenets.
