Had an acquaintance, she was 50 and never cut her toenails. She was usually barefoot at home and had these long claws on her toes. Gag. She also had several long facial hairs she would compulsively stroke. Also gag.

A guy where I worked pre-WFM had long fingernails. They were very clean, they looked like they were thin and delicate, but they were freaking long. Creeped me out. (Also, he would come up behind you and touch you very lightly on the shoulder to get your attention, people who do that also creep me out)

I'm getting old and I hate my toenails, they are turning into claws. But I use a nipper and cut them regularly. I have never been able to grow my fingernails, they just aren't very strong.

I don't cut mine, ever. They don't grow. My Nails have been very soft and weak my entire life, and for some reason my toenails just don't need to be cut. They aren't long at all, certainly not past the tips of my toes. Between occasional breakage and needing to file the occasional jagged edge here or there, I can't even tell you last time I cut them.

They are not growing their toenails. These are FAKE TOE NAILS and it is trending during the pandemic.

You bumped an 8.5yo thread to say this?

You are supposed to cut toenails? What about all the crusty skin that is visible after the nail is removed? Won't that be even more eeky?

Totally agree. Hate long nails, they are dirty and ugly.

Toenails get much harder to cut in old age. It isn’t just lack of flexibility. The nails get very thick. Even without fungus. A friend takes her mom to the podiatrist to have them trimmed.

My MIL her toenails are scary too. At least have the decency not to wear sandals if your feet look like a horror movie.

+1

MIL, too. I swear I heard them click clacking on the floor. So gross.

Mine aren’t long but I have an absolutely horrific-looking big toe that looks broken off. Because it was ripped out by the root last fall when a horse stepped on it. Broke my toe too. I am not going to skip wearing sandals because it is ugly, especially because it still hurts in dress shoes. Sandals are much more tolerable. Don’t look at my feet if it bothers you!

I don't cut my toenails, cause they don't hardly grow. A lot of people say it's a sign of a health problem, but it's been this way my entire life. I might cut them once every two years. Last time was December, and they still look the same as when I cut 'em, almost six months later.
