I think doggy is almost as good as missionary because it allows for deeper penetration. Whenever we did it that way while TTC, I made an incline out of my back, so that I wasn't "on all fours" but actually tilted downwards, giving the little gentlemen an easy run for their money. I mean, who knows? If there were really an ideal position for conception, there would be no Teen Mom, ya know? But it felt good to be proactive anyway.

Some people say "doggy style" is best for those of us with a tilted uterus. However we did it missionary and worked for us - not sure it makes a big difference either way.

Yes, I am self conscious about it. But also he just can't seem to get it done in that position.

OP here, yes, this exactly.

OP - I am 40 lbs overweight and we have no problems with missionary or any other position for that matter. You say your belly gets in the way - is it just that you're self conscious about it? Have you tried just putting your legs up in the air or on his shoulders?

I have a very retroverted uterus and just read (after years of ttc) that in that case doggie style and laying on your stomach is the best. Makes sense and I will certainly be trying it next cycle!
