It's on the web. Public, why delete?

Exactly. It is linked off the school homepage. Even the class lists are posted.

There was another email from Haycock today saying that the Friday mailing has been delayed. Here it is for those who didn't get it (you should make sure the school adds you to the mailing list):

Dear Haycock Families,

It appears that our Friday mailing has been delayed. Below are the most important items you need to know now prior to tomorrow's Open House.

In the spirit of building community, we will kick off our school year tomorrow with our annual Open House at 3:30 p.m. This event provides an opportunity to ease back into school by affording time to meet your child’s teacher and see some familiar faces. To help your child’s teacher know him or her better, we request that you bring a letter with you to the Open House describing your child (please see the attached update for more information). You are encouraged to bring your child’s school supplies as well. After visiting your child’s classroom and meeting his or her new teacher, please join us on the playground for an ice cream social until about 4:30 p.m. This time will give your family an opportunity to talk more with school staff, be re-acquainted with old friends, and make new friends, as we get ready to start the school year.
If your family is new to Haycock Elementary School, we also invite you to join us in the gym at 3:00 p.m. for a brief orientation to the school. We hope this time will give you a chance to learn about opportunities for involvement throughout the school year and to familiarize yourself with the school.

The PTA is offering a scavenger hunt to new families prior to the new family orientation. The scavenger hunt will begin at the playground pavilion at 2:30 and will end in time for the new family orientation in the gym. The PTA is looking for parent volunteers to assist in the scavenger hunt. If you're available, please email our PTA President Christie Johnson at ckcjn@yahoo.com.

If it is the first time your child will be riding a bus, at Open House, we will a FCPS bus available by the main entrance of the school. We encourage you stop by and let your child get a feel for being on a bus.

Once your mailing arrives, please take a few minutes to read the important updates and view our school’s handbook on our webpage at http://www.fcps.edu/HaycockES/school_resources/Parent_Handbook_2012-2013.pdf

The Bus Route information is in your mailing and can also be viewed at http://www.fcps.edu/HaycockES/school_resources/bus_routes.pdf

Our Haycock blog will be updated weekly in the fall and can be bookmarked at www.cougarcoffeetalk.edublogs.org. You can also follow Haycock on Facebook. Look for and friend request “Haycock Cougar." See photos of our new teachers there!

Finally, class lists will be posted this evening to our website and front doors at 5:00 p.m.

We apologize for the delay in our mailing. Please don't hesitate to email me at klsheers@fcps.edu if you have any questions. We look forward to seeing you all at our Open House tomorrow!

Sincerely,
Kelly Sheers
Principal

We are new to the school. I know they have our correct email address but we did not receive an email, nor a letter, nor a packet. I just keep calling the school with questions. They don't seem to mind. What is this letter/packet you are referring too?

Nope, no letter here, either. I did see that bus routes are up on the school website, though.

We have not received the packet yet, either.

Slightly off topic, but has anyone received the letter referenced in Haycock's email? The email said those letters were mailed on Friday, and we haven't gotten ours.

Any word on whether an additional 1st grade teacher was approved? Dr. Sheers told us at the new family picnic she has asked for one and would find out last Friday.

It was a "Haycock Hello" email form the principal. If you didn't get it, I'd call the school. You should have gotten it.

We are a new family at Haycock and received the email. You may want to verify they have your correct email address.

Question for PP 20:04: do you know if that email was sent to all new and returning Haycock families? We're a new family at Haycock and didn't receive any email.
