Hmmm, you sound like a disguntled Republican, one who considers herself conservative on fiscal issues but liberal on social issues. Depending upon the election or your personal levels of disappointment, you may consider yourself Independent and no longer Republican, but then you might swing back sometimes.

You are squarely in the conservative christian/tea party wing of the Republican party. I'll leave that to others to tell you if that is part of the "smart" party the OP advocates.

On the contrary, all of the following things are the opposite of Repub party positions on these topics:

anti-gun control
pro-environment
pro-animal rights
anti-capital punishme
As a PP noted, many evangelicals are both anti capital punishment (give them points for consistency) and pro-environment. Not sure how being against gun control could be considered anything but a Republican position. And the day animal rights swings more than 100 votes in a presidential election, I'll give up veal.

OH, I mistyped on the anit-gun control one! Sorry! My brain was thinking "anti-guns" but my fingers typed "antigun CONTROL." I am very pro gun control, though, and very anti guns.

Overall, I do vote Republican, but I hate their positions on: guns, environment, animal rights, capital punishment.

OH yeah, I am also anti-Creationism and pro-Darwinism.

You are a Republican. The first four positions you listed are more fundamental ( Smaller govt, less taxes, pro-life etc) than the second four. Pro- animal rights and anti-capital punishment are single issues, not fundamental political beliefs. And "pro-environment" could mean a lot of things.

Following the GOP script
Is this etch a sketch, flip flopping, shift to the middle after you get the nomination Republican in our midst??

Smaller gov makes you a republican. It's liberty that dems hate. They choose centralized control over every other issue.

Yeah, other than the environmental issues (which some Christian Right folks do agree on), this PP is pretty right-wing. Now if she believes Obama was born in Hawaii, Dubya had no actionable advance knowledge of 9/11, and that global mean temperatures are increasing (*), this puts her in the reality-based wing of the general population.

(*) I did not say whether this increase was caused by human activity or not.
