Just because someone wants a lift and fill does not mean they don't love themselves. Where do you draw that conclusion?
Do youself a favor. Don't ever visit South America. Their surgery rates are way higher than ours. Maybe they all hate themselves too?

HHI of just over 300K and I'm planning on spending 8K on boobs. After nursing 2 children for a total of 2 years, I feel like I'm ENTITLED to a new rack that resembled my old one. While working full time I have trained for and ran a marathon, lost 40lbs, and now this will be the icing on my cake.
8k is pretty easy to come up with, so the money is not an issue. Howevever, I know women who make much less than me and they have had work done after having kids as well.
As for a tummy tuck, I'm very lucky to have good skin and abs, so luckily I don't need it, but I don't begrudge people who do. Unlike most people on this site, I don't spend my time judging other people's personal decisions.

Because I'm 50 and can't go braless even in front of my SO without feeling humiliated. Waiting a few months for the fat to redistribute and then I'm getting them put back where they started and smaller.

Because not everyone was a skinny HS kid or a hottie at 22, and maybe after having kids you might want to feel like you "finally" have the chance to look good because you didn't have the means when you are "supposed" to be hot.

I was anti-boob job (well, for me) until I had a baby. I just sort of feel like, if I don't want to look at them or touch them, why would my husband want to, and it really bothers me. If that means I have low self-esteem and lack values (or don't care about the environment?) then so be it. But it's not like I want to get some giant rack and parade my cleavage around town so that men will start longingly at my chest.

It more that I can't figure out how to make it work. I think it's because we have different priorities, as they say. I would love to have a tuck AND the awesome school DD attends. and and and. What can I say? Maybe I need to become a white collar crime partner.
We have no mortgage. Our children go to public school. I drive a 3 year old Honda and DH drives a Prius. We have no problems affording cosmetic surgery.
NP here. Doesn't plastic surgery seem inconsistent with the other values you appear to hold? That's a sincere question: when I think of people committed to living within their means, public schools, and environmentally sound choices in their cars, it's jarring to then think "boob job."

This simply shows that money does not buy happiness. People age, their bodies change. But we are still beautiful at every age. We should take care of our bodies - eat healthy and exercise. I'm 42 and take great care of my body. It looks good but far from perfect. Saggy boobs and some cellulite. My HHI is over $500K. Could easily afford surgery but would never do it. I see women at the gym all the time with fake boobs and it makes me sad. Why do they need 22 year old boobs to love themselves? I am just glad I don't.

Let me stress I don't begrudge you your surgery; I'm not a plastic hater and actually would consider a tuck if I won it as a door prize.
But what I can't figure out is, how do SO many of you spring for what amounts to a cheap Honda, in cash? IN an anonymous forum where people are talking about waxing assholes and, essentially, putting balloons into their bodies to be sexy, I'm crossing fingers that some posters will be candid and reply with their HHI, or financing strategies. Or that they go without? (personally, if we took completely different vacations and put DD in DCPS, well, that would be a pair of boobs for me. But not a tuck).

I'm not one of the people that has done this, but I do have a spare $20K lying around and it comes from saving over the past several years. If I wanted to, I could use it for this, but I'm not going to.
