Some of the things you specially mentioned in your post my DH would not consider a main dish (meat or not)-- but we do include a fair number of meatless meals into our dinner rotations because we're both consciously trying to eat less meat.

My DH LOVES a Mexican lasagna type dish made with tortillas and black beans. He also loves home-made veggie burgers (I use a recipe I found in a magazine that uses rice, breadcrumbs, and pinto beans as the base- and I sort of alter it according to what I have in the house.) He'll also eat a quinoa salad without meat as a main dish.

Sure. My DH is more likely to eat vegetarian than i am, and he's the athletic one in our family. We do more protein too, lots of beans, fish, eggs, etc when we dont have meat.

Heh. Yeah, my dh is definitely in the "it's not a meal unless there's meat" camp. No way would he eat some of those meals. Too fancy. Quinoa? Gnocchi? Nope. No way.

We eat meatless every Thurs. DH eats what is put in front of him. So far he has either really liked it, been just ok with it "I think I'll get Subway tomorrow." (rather then eat leftovers as per usual.) or flat out tells me "Please don't make that again, ever." If I get told the last one, I usually agree with him!

We don't eat fake meat so it is usually a bean, vegetable, egg or cheese based meal.

My husband would think that I bumped my head. NO, he will not do a meatless dinner.

My DH WAS a huge meat eater until his health started to pay the price.

We very often go meatless and he is more than supportive, he appreciates it. Tonight as a matter of fact we went meatless. Gazpacho and Quinoa salad. Not a single drop of animal product was in our dinner this evening.

She's not implying, her husband DOES. Mine, too.

DH stills like tomato soup and grilled cheese or maybe a veggie pizza or big salad but he still likes beef, chicken and pork as well.

There was a lot of resistance at first, but over about 3 years we've moved to entirely vegetarian dinners, except for fish once a week. Ask your DH to read the "China Study" book- the health effects are pretty staggering.

When DH feels like grilling, I give him slices of polenta, a few masala veggie burgers, and a bunch of sliced vegetables. I think you can make pizza and other things on the grill, but I've never tried.

Absolutely. But neither of us will eat fake meat.
