I do not want my child to start her schooling being bullied b/c it can really do a number to a child (as we all know).

Bullying in kindergarten over clothes? that doesn't happen

This is my first child in public school. School has a bullying issue. I'm new to this. Thanks for the info.

Wow. You either watch too much television or you are off your rocker.

In another thread I was told rainboots are a big waste and kids don't wear them. I was going to get my 5 yr old rainboots to walk to the bus (with me) and to walk into school (and she is in aftercare--I have no idea if they take kids outside on days when it rained and the ground is wet).

They don't go outside when it has rained, or if it might snow, or if it might rain later, or if its windy, or if its below 40, or if its above 85. They also don't play dodgeball, kickball, or tug of war.

OP, you are clearly stressing about this issue. stop. your child should not get the impression from you, at such a very young age, that looking like everyone else is important and should be how they judge themselves and others. Please, on the first day of K, just put your son in clothes that HE likes to wear, give him a big hug and a kiss and send him on his way feeling that he's good enough regardless of what clothes he's wearing. I think you will be sending the wrong message if you try to change his wardrobe in an effort to dress just like all the other boys. You seem to have some personal unresolved issues, perhaps. ( and I don't mean this in a snarky way, but that's really how your post struck me)
