Maybe 1/2 glass of wine every other month? Just not a big drinker...used to drink more, but after my father realized he is an alcoholic, I examined the place alcohol has in my life. Was never a big drinker, so don't miss it. Ironically, the one time I DO miss it is when he's here...

Only on vacation once a year. It'll be sangria or some tropical mixed drink that takes like juice.

Since it's summer, I've been having a glass or 2 of wine every night. Once fall comes again, I usually only drink on weekends.

Damn, no kidding. I moved here years ago and it still surprises me.

1-2 drinks a night, every night, is expected in European countries such as France and Spain. Having lived there, I saw first-hand how this moderation is not a problem.

Only in America is light drinking thought of as potential alcoholism, and a possible need for concern. I think the important part of the OP's post is the recent lack of energy, which may or may not be caused by the alcohol. Maybe OP should see a doc for underlying causes. Good luck and be well.

I stopped drinking about 2 years ago. I was drinking a glass or two of wine a night, more when I was out to dinner. Always able to stop at my self imposed limit but ALWAYS wanted more. Could never get enough of the drink. Quitting made me realize that my years of anxiety/depression were largely due to alcohol abuse.

When I go out once every few weeks I will have three or four drinks. Maybe a beer sprinkled in here or there but that's unusual. When I was younger I drank for fun, now I cannot stand the whole staying out late, taking cabs, all the inconveniences. My social group is pretty driven by "going out" but that means food just as much as alcohol. I don't ever drink so much that I couldn't drive, but I don't drive because I impose zero tolerance on myself.

I drink less and less as the years go by. At this point, I drink 1-2 glasses of wine in a weekend. That's it.

I'm 50 and my kids are 14 and 11.

Pregnant so 0 at the moment. However, normally 2-3 glasses of wine per week. If it's the odd night out with girlfriends, maybe as much as 3-4 drinks, could be wine or a martini. I do miss a nice lemon drop martini!

I drink no alcohol. Zero, zilch, nada.

I drink 1-3x/week - mostly Fri, Sat, or Sun night. 3x/week is pretty rare, though.

I'll drink 1-2 glasses of wine or sangria. Occasionally if I go out with friends I'll drink 1-2 cocktails.

I've actually been experimenting with drinking a glass of wine with dinner during the week, to see if it helps me relax. I tend to come home from work pretty crazed from my day and have trouble switching gears to just relaxing and enjoying the kids. But I don't ever see myself drinking more than 1 glass of wine on weeknights.

1 drink a month? Maybe 2?
