Of course the fact that she describes it as women having to work outside their homes and doesn't mention women who choose to do that gives you insight as to her values - which, personally, I don't care for. No way Ann Romney is a role model for me or my daughter. But I don't think this statement on the whole is as bad as it's made out to be.

Actually, what that statement really says is that she has never given a sliver of a thought to women who have to work for a living--none of the ones she socializes with do, and she could care less about the personal circumstances of the ones she's come across who do (i.e., those who serve her in some capacity).

OTOH SP isn't even invited to the GOP convention, that's how much they like what she says.

Somehow the second part of the first sentence disappeared it was supposed to read "for him, and that is just not the norm."

Wow, he may say stupid things occasionally but I have been to a fundraising dinner for him. He spoke for 45 minutes with no script; he worked the room with 30 people watching in awe. I also spoke with him privately for a bit after his speech. He is the most eloquent and wonderful speaker I have ever seen. I have no party affiliation and tend to stay on the conservative side of things, but seriously Joe Biden won me over. The press loves to grab him out of context.

In the lds church the tithe is always 10%. Where did you get the understanding "generally"
Or does the lds church tax the wealthy differently?

My worry is that romney will use the presidency to enrich himself, rob the people. He already comes across so sleazy. Perhaps if he was not so high and mighty.
Maybe this country needs more han 2 parties.

They said they tithe which is an important part of the LDS as well as many other churches. A tithe is generally 10 %. You seem to have more details of the Romney finances than anyone else. Is that you Mitt?

Prop 8?
Is that the one about gay marriage

Maybe we will a proposition for plural marriage?

Romneys would look sweet with another sister wife

Well in any case, we wouldn't have to worry about the preachy lady telling us to eat right and exercise.
I mean...if you asked what she thought of obesity in this country, Ann Romney would probably answer that she thinks it's great because one of her husband's friends is a controlling shareholder in a firm that makes plus size clothes in China and they really need to export to the US because the Chinese aren't fat enough yet to provide enough domestic demand.

We can expect a lot of laughs if her hubby is elected. She may be as entertaining as the "put food on your family" and "childrens do learn" president.

She said in the same interview that they give 105 of their money to the church. However, that is not the same as giving it to charity. The church uses that money for all kinds of things- including political purposes such as giving over 20 million dollars to support Proposition 8 in California.

that should be 10% ( typo)
