OP: you might also want to look around for summer teen activities at libraries, rec centers, pool etc - just to get them out of your hair for a bit. Learning how to use metro - bus and rail - will also help them gain some sense of place and independence.

OP, welcome to the area. I'm embarrassed by some of the PP's who have no manners or empathy. Please do not think we're all like that. Of course moving for teenagers or anyone can be hard and teens especially may respond with moodiness and fighting. That sounds pretty normal to me. There are a lot of great things in this region and I hope you and your family settle in and start to feel like home.

The power outage was truly terrible for my family and we hadn't just moved. I can't imagine no power/hot/everything in boxes. Sounds really awful.

Each day will be better than the one before. Hang in there!

Think of it this way, OP, it can only get better -- and you have a great story to tell people as you start making friends.

My parents just told us we were beig transferred. Then again, we weren't. spoiled, self-centered kids. If there was only one bathroom , my mother made.A half hour schedule. for school fay showers/washing hair. You haven't done a very good job of parenting if you haven't taught your children they must learn to live in their present circumstances.
