15:42 here. To make it worse, DH loves, loves, loves having piles of crap everywhere. His office is dreadful in that regard. I blame MIL who could use a housecleaning course. My mom was the opposite, you could eat off her floors at any given time if you were so inclined. So it hard to have things this way, unfortunately. I always think hoarders (which is what we are becoming) have mental issues. At least I know MIL does.

My DH is a hoarder but claims publicly he is a purger. I am a purger but feel the brunt (somehow - enabler?!?) and take the brunt of the hoarder. Hard to explain. Often, we can't find something (because DH messed up all my work of organizing) and end buying another to replace it. It is a horrible, overwhelming cycle. I have tried hiring someone to help, but a stranger can only do so much, unless you just want to toss every last thing. Which would be fine, if most of it were not the kids stuff, and I do want to keep some things. If only it were as romantic and painless as they make it look on t.v.!

Hoard and I hate hate hate it! My DH is like me but a little better b/c he never buys anything. I try hard to throw stuff out b/c clutter makes me nuts. Don't want to be like my parents who have way too much stuff, buy constantly and NEVER throw anything out.

Purge. We are a family of four in a 2 bedroom apartment and I hate clutter, it feels chaotic to me.

My DH is the opposite, his boxes full of crap takes up all of our precious storage space. He's an IT nerd so it's mostly chords, hardware etc.

I am a purger but I do have 2 gallon size ziploc bags of old phones and chargers. I want to find a place to donate for domestic violence etc but never remember. Anyone know of a place?

Oh gosh, the concierge in my office bldg. is collecting them now in fact. I believe it is for women who are victims of domestic violence? I will look downstairs the next time I am down there to get the name of the charity for you. I will post back within a day or two.

Purging feels great. Seeing stuff lying around that will never be put to use makes me hyperventilate. My mother is a hoarder, goes to estate sales 3-4 days per week. She is crestfallen when I don't want to take some of her treasures. She has some gorgeous things she has collected, but much of it to me is excess junk. I can't stand piles and clutter.

I am a hoarder, married to a purger. However, my hoarding isn't anywhere near as bad as my family's problems. My husband knows better than to touch my stuff, though. He purges my stuff at his peril.

We moved last year and we did purge a lot at that point. Not as much as HE would have liked, and we are still dealing with unpacking and organizing almost a year later. Plus, my mom keeps bringing me more boxes of my stuff from my old bedroom every time she visits....with even more crap she insists we should have. Eventually we'll be done with that...eventually.

I am also a purger, and have recently gone through another major purge at my house. I feel so much better and more calm/in control when the house isn't full of crap we don't need, don't wear, will never use, etc.

I am a purger. The hardest part is getting the kids on board.
