"Yeah, I know the regular prices are quite steep but when you only buy on sale, like I do, the quality and adorable looks you get are worth it to me." I might then respond by saying, "Wow I always thought they were WAY overpriced but now that you mention the current items you just bought at those sale prices I might reconsider shopping there. Thanks for the tips." With me it would probably lead into a conversation about J&Js sale cycles and how you estimate what size clothes your kids will be in if you shop off season, etc. etc.
OP here. I love your approach. Thanks for sharing the idea!
pp here - don't listen to all of the haters! I get some hand-me-downs from friends, I shop a huge bi-annual consignment sale for fall/winter and then spring/summer clothes and supplement with online or in store sales. My kids also wear mainly the brand names you mentioned. Many of my friends and I are what another poster said - thrifty and snobby!! Why not!!
I also buy ALL of the clothes for my 3 nephews who live out of state and for 1 great-nephew who lives in ayet another state. So it's mostly consignment/hand-me-downs/good sales. But since I can afford it this is the way I shop.
Anonymous wrote:$8.99 for a onesie?! You're reminding me why I never shop there.
