I'm not sure Sacks meets the OP's needs in terms of location but will say that, so far, I have not had any trouble with CFA in terms of support staff. One billing error that they are working with me to fix and I adore his two nurses. They always call, always remember what's been going on with me, and the one time I had a funny result were very open about it potentially being a lab error and how they acted to make sure we didn't make any rash decisions based one funny result. I haven't moved on to IVF so don't know what the staff is like downstairs. Maybe that is where the problems happen?

I also agree with PP. Loved Sacks, but everything the pp mentioned is why we left as well. It was just too stressful.

Sacks is a very good doctor, and has a wonderful personality, but honestly his CFA support staff is so completely dysfunctional, disorganized, and at times downright incompetent, that as much as we liked Sacks himself, I'm really not sure it is worth it. The infertility process is already stressful enough...

Dr. Preston Sacks at Columbia Fertility. He's great.

what did u like about him? I made an appt. Did you get pregnant with him (that sounds so weird).

I was intimidated in the beginning bc he is very straight forward but I needed that.....after a few months I looked forward to going - I felt like they were my biggest supporters. The only person I could not deal with was the billing lady....but I think she is gone now.
Jo is an outstanding and caring nurse and Dr Sharara is the best in what he does. I also loved that I actually saw him on every visit and felt he truly got to know me and my issues which lead to immediate results.
FWIW - I am not overweight and he told me to do the low carb diet as well. Had to do with polycystic ovaries.

Maybe b/c of this: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/11499322?ordinalpos=7&itool=EntrezSystem2.PEntrez.Pubmed.Pubmed_ResultsPanel.Pubmed_DefaultReportPanel.Pubmed_RVDocSum

OHhhh!!! Ok, thanks for this info. If your ovaries are not polycystic, though, I wonder if I should still do this. Hmmm. . . .

Dr. Greenhouse at Fair Oaks/Annandale's Shady Grove offices is great.

another one for Dr. Frankfurter. I switched from Widra to Frankfurter... another "harder" case and feel I get more customized treatment plan than at SG.

I would second (third?) the recommendation for Dr. Frankfurter at GW. I see Dr. Dayal but she is moving to St. Louis and Dr. Frankfurter seems great also. I really like the practice because it is a non-profit, teaching hospital, which makes me much more comfortable than the for-profit machines that only care about their stats. GW really listens to you and will take your opinion into account when managing your care, because they are most concerned with giving you the best possible care, not with their statistics. They also will take more difficult cases that some of the statistics-driven practices will not take.

I am a big fan of Dr. Greenhouse. He's at the SG Fair Oaks office, and also Annandale, I think.

Dr. Stephen Lincoln at GIVF was great. He was a no fuss doctor, provided us with direct answers and had good bedside manner.

Good luck.

I am not a patient there but have met with and have several friends who have had success with dr. Greenhouse at shady grove fair oaks. If I lived closer he is who I would see. I am actually a patient of dr. Gordons and like him quite a bit although not yet pregnant!
