many many years ago i stayed in a pensione in Fiesole -- about 10 miles outside of Florence. Pensione Villa S. Girolamo. It's run by some nuns. Blue Nuns or something like that. Ironically, it was seriously the most romantic place i've ever been -- too bad i was alone. I looked online for a website, but they don't seem to have one. The English Patient was filmed there. Also, great coffee from what i remember!
