I work for the govt. - IT Project Manager - $122K
I have a BS in Math and a PMP certification
I have 20yrs experience
I work 7-3:30 and have 2 work at home days. Sometimes I work 8:30-5 if my husband has to work early.
I could easily make more but choose less stress and flexibility - I am the mother of a 10 and 12 year old.

Welcome to youth! I don't mean to be condescending, although it's going to come across that way. I'm astonished by the number of 20-somethings who expect 6-figure salaries and private offices.

Anyway, government contractor. ~$140 before I took a paycut to go part time. 40hr wk when I was full time, contract didn't allow for more. I have an advanced degree, but have many colleagues who have only bachelor's degrees.


NP. The only reason I expected 6 figures is because I had 6 figures of debt coming out of college. Of course I'm 28 and still 2-3 years from making 6 figures.

Welcome to youth! I don't mean to be condescending, although it's going to come across that way. I'm astonished by the number of 20-somethings who expect 6-figure salaries and private offices.

A friend works as an executive assistant, less than 40 hours per week in the summer and really easy job. $72K

For the accountant - do you work for yourself or a private company?

I am an accountant and I less that 40 hours- nearer 37 and I earn just over $200k. ~$210k.

Both my husband and I work for a non-profit. We make about 100K with bonuses, and work 40 hours a week. Our workplace is super family friendly, and will pay for White House Nannies to come take care of kids if their schools are closed so we don't have to take off, or if we want to work from home.

2. how much can I expect to make in a role with scaled back hours like that? I assume its at least cutting my salary in half if I were to start doing development for a smaller non profit, which is fine.


This non-profit scam needs to stop, seriously 225k? Thats highway robbery. If your donors knew that they would pull the plug on you ASAP.


It raises questions for me, too.
