OMG - I love all these names, but we couldn't use any of them because DH's last name begins with letter L and I really don't like L alliteration. Of the three you list, I love Lucy, but would hesitate to use it because there are a lot of dogs named Lucy -- a lot. I also love Lily (it was probably my favorite when our DD was born), but there are many, many, many girls and young women named Lily -- even more than dogs named Lucy.

So, I would go with Lila, pronounced with a long I. Will some people pronounce it differently? Of course, but not that many and to me that's not a reason to rule out a name you love. As for the person who suggested that it's an Indian name, it's also a traditional Greek name and quite common in France as well. So, rather than charging others with cultural appropriation, why not revel in the charm of a name that has been loved by people the world over?

Lila or Leela is an Indian name. Do not appropriate if you are not Indian.

I like Lila in English but as a German speaker it means "purple" (pronounced Lee-la) so I couldn't do it lol.

Lila is my favorite of the 3, and spelled that way I don't understand why anyone would pronounce it any other way than "LIE-la". If spelled Leila, then yes, that could be pronounced 3 different ways.

I like Lucy for you. I have a Lila. She has been called Leela and Layla. Oh well.

I love all three. I wanted to have Lucy be my DD's name but my DH didn't like it. And Lily is my grandmother's name and since we're Jewish I couldn't use that one. I guess Lila is my least fave of the three, but in the greater pool of girl's names, it's one of my top favorites. I really don't think you can go wrong with any of them, and I wouldn't worry about popularity. I named my son Jonah thinking it wasn't popular at all, it's never broken even the top 100 names list from the SS, but everywhere I go I hear other people calling out for their Jonahs. So much for popularity lists! Maybe put all three in a hat and just pick one?

All three are fine, but Lucy is my favorite. It's the most classic, least trendy and suits a child or an adult. I actually like Lucinda and Lucy as a nn, but Lucy is great as a stand alone name too.

I like all and like Lillian too with the nickname Lily.

I don't love Lila because I see it and want to pronounce it Lil-La but it could go to Lee-la or Lay-la too, so its kinda confusing for me.

I like Lily the best. All are cute, but Lily is the only one that really works for a professional adult.

I like Lila and Lily, and think Lily works just fine for an adult.

I just feel Lucy sounds like a nickname.
