Exactly. And the character calls for her to be a frump and a mess.

I actually know very few ppl that fugly in real life. She is one ugly woman--Hillary Clinton today puts her to shame.
She needs to lose weight for health reasons. All of that mid-section fat at 26 is dangerous. Her stomach sticks out farther than her chest.

I agree, and without Dunham being not conventionally attractive and willing to be sexual and show her body in ways that are designed to make the audience uncomfortable, this show would be nothing. The whole show rests on her hyper confessional vulnerability.

I keep thinking you are way too young to be that out of shape and blubbery. There is nothing redeeming about her face, her clothes are horrible, her hair is horrible, she has no chin, her front teeth suck, and she has an annoying personality. I want to see her get on a treadmill, stop wallowing in her misery and do SOMETHING other than complain and feel sorry for herself.
so funny, but I agree. To be that young and be out of shape is just unfathomable to me--and I don't particularly want to look at anyone who lets themselves look a doughy 45 year old when they're in their 20s. I'll forgive a gal a whole hell of lot after 40, though...esp if not too wrinkly. Stay out of the sun, young Shirleys!
