It's such a welcoming, diverse faith, and the Sunday School reflects their principles well. Second the recc for Cedar Lane; All Souls in DC (Mount Pleasant) and River Road are also great congregations. GL!

Yep, you've been given good advice. I'm agnostic and grew up going to various Christian churches in the Bible belt. My first UU experience in college was amazing. Wow -- there are other people like me? It seems an especially good place for people in your situation. There's all the church-y lesson and Sunday school and community stuff for the kiddos, but real intellectual conversation for adults. Or, if you'd prefer to skip that altogehter and just have your kid participate, that would be fine too. Basically, just a very liberal and welcoming community.

There is also the Northern Virginia Ethical Society. I think they meet at Green Hedges School.

Yup -- UU of Arlington is right on Rt 50, at George Mason. It's a great, supportive, welcoming community; I've been a member for about three years now. Here's the website: http://www.uucava.org/

Good luck!
