What if the Civil Rights Act had been put up to a vote -- and a majority in 32 states decided not to allow blacks to vote? Would you have been ok with that?
Ha ha! Actually your cause is doomed! If the legalization of gay marriage doesn't happen now, it will happen in just a few years. The old guard is passing away and the young people who are coming into voting age have a very different perspective. We're going to live in a better world thanks to them! Thanks, guys!Anonymous wrote:They make up 30% of the MD electorate. Your cause is doomed.

so let me get this straight. me and "my people" (i.e. black) are the sole reason why gay marriage wont pass in maryland?
can we assume that the black legislators who voted for marriage equality in maryland would vote for it on the ballot in november? what does that do to the 100% of blacks will vote against gay marriage claim?
also, can you provide me statistics showing that 100% of us killed gay marriage in the other 32 states that put this up for a vote while you are it.
if i knew we had this much power, i would call on us to put a bunch of things up on ballots in every state during our monthly black people meetings

so white, hispanic, etc are not against gay marriage too?
There's an obsession with shaming black people.
Yeah, I don't get it. Stop trying to shame Black people into voting for your cause. Go home and shame your family members. They are the ones who are secret voting against you.

And they all vote exactly the same way on the issue? 100% of black voters vote against gay marriage? And they are the sole reason a same-sex marriage ban would pass?
Honestly, I am for same-sex marriage and am actually LGBT myself, but if I weren't, some same-sex marriage supporters are so damn off-putting that it would turn me off and cause me to not care.
Do you understand how crazy you sound. I am African American, aka Black. I would not vote against same sex marriage, but people like you could cause me, and like-minded voters, to not vote on the issue at all. Frankly, I cannot find myself to vote against it, but I can definitely choose to not vote for it. Bigot, that is what you are.
