Ah, it's gone already.
I should have gotten busy writing an offer rather than discussing it on DCUM, LOL.
Very much appreciate all the feedback, will JUMP on the next MCM near RCP if a nice one comes up...

OP here.
Thanks to all!
Will report back. Am going to go home via Beach Drive (sounds interesting!) and time the commute, spy on the street.

Love it love it love it! I wish there were more homes like this in our area, and a little cheaper (for my budget).
Good luck op!

Frankly, this house is kind of a steal!
It is really special.
I would buy it in a second if I had the $. Hope you get it, OP!

For the commute downtown, why not just take Beach Drive, which is right behind the house?

It's a very busy street. Lots of people use it as a cut through and go zooming up an down it.

OP here, really appreciate all the feedback. We love it but have been worried about what might happen if we needed to resell it in a few years. Can live with a crowded street, and likely even low ceilings. Had not thought of usurping the family room as a bedroom--that might just make it work for us with our 3 kids. So...unless someone snaps it up ahead of the weekend, we're gonna head out! Any thoughts on the commute downtown? Western then CT?

Love the house. . . really love the location. If I had $1 million for a home, I would definitely consider it.

I live in this area (but on the DC side) and I never thought I'd buy a MCM. OMG we love it. Awesome for parties, entertaining and kids. I can't imagine ever living in a colonial again.
But I hate the exterior of MCM homes! From the street they look ugly but inside is like Dr. Who's Tardis. Very large.

It's a little wierd in person - the ceilings are quite low. And the street's kind of a pain - narrow and hilly but they still allow parking on both sides of the street, so I saw several cars having to back up so another could pass. That said, the pool and the view were awesome.

Love the overall lines and the architectural details, but way too much stacked stone on the interior for me.
