Great schools, I have two children one in each school and we are very happy, good education, good friends, good programs, no problems at all. So far so good. There is no perfect school but these two are good.

JW also has a few dances during the year and just offered a night time ice skating event.

The team will also make posters and install light switch covers with energy tips in all classrooms. 8.38 yes we are nervous about leaving old friends here and finding new ones at our new place of residence. My 5th grader is certainly not looking forward to it.

Our middle schools have few after-school activities. We just got the middle school sports program back about ten years ago but its a joke. Softball, basketball, and soccer. No intramural program except in gym class.

On the other hand high schools have more clubs, activities, and sports teams that you could possibly handle. Every day there are clubs, groups, and teams meeting after school.

Then check out the ones that hang out on the path behind the school

Happens at all schools but the good out weigh the bad. Lincoln Park is a rough area, I doubt you are planning on moving there

The OP asked about violence in the schools and class disruptions. The answer is that many of the fighters come Lincoln Park just like the fighters at Churchill come from Scotland.

So to decode your post, it is the black kids?

There are really alot of neighborhoods in Rockville. I have lived here for 20+ years and I am sure that I am not familiar with all of them. I think the point is that no one neighborhood dominates a whole high school cluster.

Anonymous wrote:I an the PP who has never heard of that neighborhood. I lived in Rockville in the 90's and was not aware of open air drug markets and shootings. I did google in and apparently there was a low income housing projec there once that was torn down. Anyways, JW and RM pull kids from 4 elementary schools which each pull for multiple neighborhoods. None of the neighborhoods from those with million dollar homes to lower income dominate the school...which is what I think is great about the area.

All I can is that you didn't get around much or didn't read the newspapers during the 90's. Lincoln Park has been an established neighborhood for over a hundred years.
