Definitely appeal. Get a WISC. Your kid is 2e and needs a private psychologist to tease out the true IQ.

But non verbal only ..... 112....,child has been diagnosed with visual perceptual disability in feb. Has a 504 now...I am confused.
Should the non verbal score get thrown out, or do I need a WISC? Student was not accepted, do I appeal, if I get a high score on WISC? Or stay put and hope for the best.

Thank you so much for your help and tips. I shall try WISC. I am new from Michigan. No clue on WISC. I shall read the link you sent to understand WISC. Does it require any preparation? I heard about CogAt preparation few months back. I wished I had known this earlier. Anyway, WISC might be best option. No harm in trying. Thank you again.

You need to have new information to appeal. Best bet is likely a WISC if you can afford it. (Cost will be roughly $350 - $500.) GMU does WISC testing or you could opt for a private psychologist. Call very soon (tomorrow?) as you will need time to make the appointment, have the testing done, and get the report back.
