I'm the PP who visited when it first opened. At the time, I didn't have young kids, so I didn't pay attention to that sort of thing. I think it could work, based on my recollections as well as poking around on the website. The rooms are really spacious, so that's nice. They also have a kids pool and dining. When we went, there were definitely some kids, but the place was so empty it didn't have a feel of a family resort or a couples resort, or whatever.
It seemed like they were going for a fairly serene vibe (even apart from the fact that it wasn't crowded). So I don't think there would be a lot of entertainment sorts of things for young kids (like for instance, at a Disney resort where they host character dinners or whatever). But if you want a beautiful place with a great beach, nice pool, etc., then I think it would be a great choice.
Looking around the website makes me want to go back ....
