Saw it in the Vehicle Assembly Building last week at Cape Canaveral. It's not the end of the space program, there are a bunch more launches scheduled, but it is the end of the space shuttle program.

I am not the PP, but my son's at Glebe and they were outside to see it. My DH was there volunteering at that time. It flew over 2 times.

It was awesome. Went right over our house in Arlington twice. Called my son's elementary (just a couple of blocks away), and fortunately they had the kids out to see it. When I ran outside to see it the first time, I saw a couple of people walking about a block away and they WEREN'T LOOKING UP. Argh!

There is a site where you can see a still photo and there is a webcam set up at Dulles where you can see the shuttle and its carrier on the runway. They landed a short while ago.

I know. I didn't think I would be so excited. I think because I didn't plan anything and was just sitting here working when I heard the roar outside my front door. Pretty damn cool!
