She turns her chidden out, unsupervised at 7:00AM most Sundays. They scream and whoop and shout and fight with each other--eventually one stubs his toe or hits the other and starts screaming blue murder--only then does one of the parents slowly venture out--this is all just blazingly loud as their voices bounce off the pavement--it sounds like they are in our bedroom. Then she fires up the gas powered leaf blower--It is like a John Deere factory over there. I want to just run out there naked beating a drum and see how they like it.

OP here--Your logic is baffling. My reasonable desire to enjoy a peaceful morning free of power tools on Sunday morning is to be equated with expecting my neighbor to bring me a latte. You are a selfish ass, for sure. I manage to cut my lawn in the afternoons after 4--I don't expect everyone to do this but, I shouldn't have to wake up to this noise on a Sunday. AU Park is pretty bucolic--not an urban area.

I looooooooooooove sleeping in--before kids, I was rarely up before noon and weekends. And yet 9am was always the time that seemed reasonable for people to assume others are up and awake. 7am on a Sunday, rude. 9am on a Sunday... acceptable. Especially when the weather report says mid-80s today.

I'd say lawn mowing and backyard playing are suburban problems. We don't have this in urban neighborhoods.

I was taught from childhood not to bother people before 10:00 AM-- with phone calls/ visits as well as with noisy activities.

But I've always lived in cities and very close to my neighbors.

All you AU Park people are always telling us that you live in the city, that it's not the suburbs, you would never leave the city, blah, blah, blah.

So glad I don't live in a neighborhood with lawns and backyards. It sounds like they're incredibly noisy places on Sunday mornings.

Agree with this. We have people out before 8 here in our MD neighborhood. Mostly the paid services.

I really don't think 9:05 is too early, and maybe it's the only time he can do it.

To preview future years for PPs saying children NEVER like to sleep in, themselves, you'll be delighted learn that older kids and teens often do.

And finally, some of us, perhaps because we're not morning people or because we're caffeine addicts who haven't gotten our fix yet, may be awake and addressing our responsibilities but may nevertheless be very intolerant of harsh noise in the morning. I'd have been up, but power tool noise would have bothered me much more at 9:00 than it would have after 10:00.

Grow up. 9 am for this level of noise on a weekend is the norm for most areas by law. Now that you're up, why don't you mow your lawn?
