Umm, I have a news flash for all of you who are shocked by this -- it's been going on for a very long time! Secret Service agents and members of the US military have solicited from prostitutes for as long as their agencies have been around. The men who are involved can travel at a moments notice 365 days of the year, and or are sent to war or at to sea for months at a time. When and where do you think they are going to have their needs met?

I am married to a military officer and I traveled with Secret Service for years -- there is no scandal here, other than getting caught. I don't want to condone it but it is a casualty of their career and loneliness. If congressional hearings are scheduled, this will be devastating to many careers because of the number of people who have used prostitutes while traveling both abroad and in the US.

Colombia is a shithole mired with drugs, corruption and ineffective leadership. Like Mexico the only reason that country exists is due to the trillions of dollars theyve received from US taxpayers. Now go back to growing cocaine in your coffee plantations.

It's irrelevant that it's legal in Colombia. Secret Service (and other similar employees) can't put themselves in a position to be blackmailed, which is why any sexual relationship with a foreign national is considered problematic at that level.

This. They can't do anything to risk the security of the President. And there are hundreds of guys ready to take their place. I doubt you will hear a single objection to the firing from within the Secret Service.
