I do not drink but have no problems with others drinking in front of me.

Those are called Jack Mormons
i.e. Mormons who drink

My parents don't drink for religious reasons. I wouldn't bring alcohol into their house, but I wouldn't have a problem ordering a drink at a restaurant.

Yes, if I wanted a glass of wine I would order it. I am a vegetarian and I do not expect anyone to not eat meat in front of me. If I had a friend who got upset if I had a glass of wine (or anything else for that matter) because of their religious beliefs we would not be friends for long.

No, I would not consider it.

Does he bring the snakes to the table with him?

Old timer religion people are very judgmental and if you drink in front of them they will look at you disapprovingly and perhaps silently or audibly damn you to hell.

Depends on the day I've had.

Me too. Although if you drank like a fish, that would make me uncomfortable but I wouldn't care if you had a glass of wine - just not 5 at one sitting.

I am Mormon and couldn't care less when people drink around me. It would make me feel akward if I knew someone was passing up something that they enjoyed just for my PERSONAL choice. Most of my Mormon friends feel the same way, so I wouldn't give it another thought.

Do you not drink ice tea in front of Mormons? I have friends who don't drink any carbonated drinks, I still enjoy my diet Coke. Now, if my friend were a recovering alcoholic, depending on where she is in her recovery, I might not order a drink but if it's just because they don't drink because of religious reasons, I don't let that stop me.
