I am still "mommy" to 17yo DD and "mom" to 16yo DS (have been for years, since age 7 or 8 maybe).

I'm 30 and call me parents mommy and daddy but refer to them as mom/dad or mother/father.

When speaking directly to them, I call my mother, "mother" and my father, "daddy". Sort of speaks to the relationship I have with each (i.e. my mother and I aren't very close, but I'm very close with my father).

6 year old still does. 9.5 year old switched me to mom at some point in the last year (maybe coinciding with going back to school after the summer, but I'm not sure). It kills me, but I respect it and have stopped signing any notes I leave her as Mommy.

I'm 25 and I still call my mom "mommy," as does my 27 year old sister. Mom always seemed so insincere to me...

She will be my mommy forever
