Tell Tanner Tales, it has great pictures and has pages where the kids can interact

The spot series has a lot of board books, my girls have always loved them.

I like Ten Little Fingers and Ten Little Toes, by Mem Fox. I have seen both regular hard back and board book versions.

My son dies for any books that have pages and pages of labeled pictures (eg My First Book of Trucks or similar things).

Board books from Costco or Sam's Club. They will hold up longer than other books and they usually come in a pack.

I had a "book shower" and received a lot of books that were more infant-y and toddler-y but also some others for a little bit older. We're now getting into those latter books and I am so grateful we have them. We received a beautifully illustrated book with Peter Rabbit tales, for instance.

Great idea! DD loves the I Spy books.

Another vote for staying away from Boyton, Seuss and all the other popular ones. If it's a book shower, she'll likely get them from other people.

If I were you, I'd just drop in to Barnes & Noble to see what they have on the bargain shelf. We got DD some great books there -- they usually have colorful "First Words" or "Counting" books, and maybe some "Lift the Flap" books for age 2.5 and up.

Or you could even look for true story books that you liked as an older child. Basically, there's no way to go wrong here. Have fun!
