Saw a male coworker look as usual one morning. The next day his face - cheeks and lips were super swollen. It reminded me of the pictures of celebrities you see made fun of whencosmetic enhancements go wrong. The third cconsecutive day I saw him, the swelling was gone and he looked years younger. Definitely had a plumper face than usual but helooked great.

I do Dysport (at the derm) and no "down time"- and it kicks in after a few days. I think Botox takes a bit longer (just by a couple days). That is just anecdotal, of course.

Botox--no down time, but it takes a few days to fully see the effects. Fillers can cause horrible bruising that can takes weeks to clear. I couldn't even cover with make-up--used a very reputable injector.

I have Botox done on a Friday PM and by the next day its fine, the fillers I have done on a Thursday so I have the whole weekend before work on Monday. So far so good.

Is this (Botox and fillers) something best done by dermatologist or plastic surgeons?

There isn't any down time for Botox/Dysport other than possible very minor bruising. I have a lot more bruising with filllers. My dermatologist has a laser she uses to get rid of the bruising the next day if you want (and she doesn't charge for it). I've never heard that you can't work out after only that you're not suppose to lie down or do any inversions (so no yoga) for several hours after Botox. You can- and I have- go straight from the dr's office to the office. You don't need to take any time off for healing.

Re: Botox/Dysport. I've done both. I find that Dysport lasts longer, so it's what I've been sticking with.

Botox takes a least a week to work fully so take this into account.
I've had it many times and I don't get the full effect for almost 2 weeks.
