Agree that it's not just about education. I have a doctorate in clinical psychology, and between my day job and part-time private practice I barely make 75k/yr. But that's a pretty good salary for most psychologists. We don't generally get paid much.

But I do love my work, even if it means living farther out in the suburbs or in a townhome instead of a house.

yeah, I did 7 years of higher ed and never broke $50K when I was working FT. It isn't always about the education. It's more about the field you chose.


And how you look. Don't forget that. It counts for a lot.
