OP, I sure hope you've gone already, but on the off chance you haven't -- Suburban hospital's ER is excellent. I've gone there for everything from a cut that needed stitches to getting run over by a delivery van. Consistently good care.

Definately go to the ER, but don't take the babies.

I would like an update too. I knew a young, otherwise healthy, woman who recently had similar symptoms but didn't go to the ER until the second day. She had meningitis, and she is missed. Please take these concerns seriously.

Stiff neck = ER. Could be meningitis.

This sounds like Herpangina--- in kids its Hand-Foot-Mouth (caused by Coxsackie virus)... adults only get the "mouth part" along with fever and myalgias. Nevertheless, should call your physicians after hour pager and they will prob send you to ER.

This is unqualified medical advice since you are just describing the symptoms without any kind of exam. Consult your physician ASAP or head to ER. Nuchal rigidity is an alarming symptom and needs eval.
