I am not the OP, and I never claimed pandering occurred.

I am challenging the poster who claimed that Martin shooting had anything to do with his race.
My point is that we do not have enough information to claim that Martin’s race had anything to do with him being questioned and shot by Zimmerman.

Second, I did not call him a racist. I think he was engaging in racial profiling. He doesn't have to be some guy spouting crazy talk about black people all day long. You seem to be willing to speculate quite nicely when it comes to my post.

A person engaging in racial profiling is a racist in some way, because he/she is attributing negative behavior characteristics to a person of another race. But let's not get caught up in semantics…

How do you know that Zimmerman was engaging in racial profiling?

Are you 100% sure that he wouldn’t shoot Martin had he been a Hispanic or White teenager wearing a hoodie walking around the community?
Are you 100% sure that it was not self defense? After all, Zimmerman was admitted to a hospital with a broken nose and he also was bleeding from his head. Do you think Zimmerman did it to himself?

All I am saying is that we should not assume that it was a racially motivated attack just because the shooter and the deceased teen belong to a different race.

But obviously, this is a tragedy. I can only imagine what these parents are going through. And when I think about this boy, I think about my own kids. And I think every parent in America should be able to understand why it is absolutely imperative that we investigate every aspect of this, and that everybody pulls together — federal, state and local — to figure out exactly how this tragedy happened.

So I’m glad that not only is the Justice Department looking into it, I understand now that the governor of the state of Florida has formed a task force to investigate what’s taking place. I think all of us have to do some soul searching to figure out how does something like this happen. And that means that examine the laws and the context for what happened, as well as the specifics of the incident.

But my main message is to the parents of Trayvon Martin. If I had a son, he’d look like Trayvon. And I think they are right to expect that all of us as Americans are going to take this with the seriousness it deserves, and that we’re going to get to the bottom of exactly what happened.
