Subject: I hate spring forward
I hate it too. I couldn't get to sleep last night because my body wasn't tired. I couldn't get up this morning because I hadn't slept enough. My daughter also had issues. Clearly, whoever invented daylight savings time didn't have kids - they do not do well with it.
That said, I am excited that it will be light enough to go to the park in the evenings again. And maybe my daughter will stop waking up so godawful early on the weekends.

I like DST but can totally understand people who hate it. This was my friend's FB post the other day:
Can we end the silliness of time changes once and for all? The logic that says destroying two percent of a weekend creates "more light" is the same that says cutting the same pizza into 16 pieces instead of eight creates more food. If they insist on still doing this, the idiotic spring ahead should occur at 4 p.m. on a Friday (the fall behind can remain on the weekend).

I travel internationally, and I hate spring forward, since my DD threw a major tantrum this morning, for the first time in her 3 years. Totally out of character for her. Lack of sleep does it to little children.

Hopefully it won't take too long for them to adjust to the time change.
No, I'm not stupid enough to have pets, but I have two young children whom I had to get up and out the door to preschool and elem before work. We changed the time in 30 minute increments. It's not rocket science, people.

Although I love getting home when it is still light out, the danger for me is that I start to think it is earlier than it actually is and then I don't get dinner, bedtime, etc. rolling on time. Then we all go to bed too late and are cranky and tired again tomorrow morning, not having caught up for having to wake up "early" this morning. Sigh.
Still, it is a price I am willing to pay!

My guess is that you don't have pets or young children. Neither of them care what the clock is set to. For example, our infant twins only ate half of their breakfast on time and an hour later, screamed hunger at us even though we were trying to get out the door. For some reason, my three kids did great this year with the time change. I was pretty shocked but all three (18 months, 4 and 6 yo) went to bed at normal time and woke up at normal times (I had to double check to make sure the clocks had actually been adjusted b/c nothing changed re: kids schedule - as in they previously woke up at 7 am, and then woke up at 7 am Sun and this morning - even though it was technically 6 am). Weird.

I love the extra light at night, but hate the change in routine. I had an especially bad night of sleep with a sick toddler. Doesn't help that its Monday and I hate my job.

I love it because it represents more daylight hours. It's very depressing to walk home in the dark at 5PM!!
Somehow, this time of year convinces me that I have time to get more done when I get home from work. Arriving home in the dark just puts me in "wind down and go to bed" mode.
