If you have school-aged kids, I wouldn't subject them to the mess that is the Baltimore City Public School system. Look in Baltimore County and there are some great neighborhoods and schools there. Plus, the commute downtown isn't horrible.

OP here, DH wants to move into the Baltimore area. I have been to the inner harbor area but do not know very much about the city. But I have heard that Richmond is better if you want want city living. Then there is Annapolis and that seems a bit more suburban I believe.

OP what do you want to know?? Sounds like a lot of ppl here are familiar with one or both cities?

I know more about Baltimore, Richmond and Annapolis than I know about Loudoun County, and I live in northern Virginia.

never been to richmond. lived in bmore for 4 years so i know it well. love it for its totally unique, quirky approach to everything, hated it because they had a beautiful little city there that is going to seed.
